Project:

Existing Building Study

Renovation and New Construction

The existing building study for the church addressed a wide array of issues including the condition of the building, life welfare issues including barrier free access and building code concerns, as well as development of CAD floor plans including additions and remodelings.

A series of meetings were held with eight groups representing forty committees to determine the user needs of the facility. Schematic Design Plans were developed to address the condition, safety, and functional issues of the existing site and building.

Phase I included renovation of the sanctuary, a newly constructed West entry including entry canopy, stairs and elevator, a remodeled education wing, and sitework.

The Entry Addition created a vertical circulation at the West Entry that was lacking in the original Church.  The original Rose Window into the Sanctuary was maintained as an interior window within the Addition.

The focus of Phase II work became the renovation of the Social hall and choir facilities.  This work provides the Church with a Social Hall and Gathering Place that complemented the Sanctuary yet was functional for community activities.

Phase III work concentrated on renovations to the 2nd floor of the building, including administrative offices, education offices, and the Chapel.  The general administrative offices have been drawn together into a suite-style office.
